Hastoe Housing Association’s housing development based in Rattlesden, Suffolk, has reached completion.

Located on Owers Close, the housing scheme is built to Passivhaus standards, containing two two-bed and two three-bed houses – each built for affordable rent. The homes will be available for local people in perpetuity.

Hastoe’s Regional Head of Development for the East, John Lefever, said, “We’re delighted to see the completion of our Passivhaus scheme in Rattlesden – we had originally seen the scheme completion be delayed due to contractor issues, but we’re very pleased these have been resolved and the scheme achieved Passivhaus certification.

“We have been working hard with the HCA, parish council and local authority to get this project completed and it’s great to see the homes built. Their eco-friendly design allows residents to live greener and see reduced energy bills.

“At Hastoe, we take great pride in helping communities retain their identity by building affordable homes intended for local people. These homes give local people the chance to stay in the area that they were born in, grew up in or work in, and they will be held for the local community in perpetuity.”
